UCO Bank was incorporated in the year 1943 as The United Commercial Bank Limited. In July 1969, the Bank was nationalized and 100% ownership was taken over by the Government of India. Consequently, the Bank extended rapidly. The name of the Bank was changed to UCO Bank on December 30, 1985.
UCO Bank, the result of a vision of Mr. G.D Birla to form a truly Indian Bank which came into existence after the ‘Quit India’ movement.
