About the owner of UCO Bank (United Commercial Bank).
UCO Bank, incorporated in the year 1943 as The United Commercial Bank Limited. In July 1969, the Bank was nationalized and 100% ownership was taken over by the Government of India. Consequently, the Bank extended rapidly. The name of the Bank was changed to UCO Bank on December 30, 1985.
UCO Bank, the result of a vision of Mr. G.D Birla to form a truly Indian Bank which came into existence after ‘Quit India’ movement.

Ravi Krishan Takkar, current MD & CEO of UCO Bank. Takkar, qualified with B.Com (Hons.), LLB, CAIIB and also a PGDIBM from NIBM. Notably, graduated with commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi. Moreover, a graduate in Law from Delhi University. Prior to joining UCO, the Executive Director of Dena Bank. In May-1979, he joined the Oriental Bank of Commerce as Probationary Officer. In fact, through the 36 years’ of service, he held many important positions. Thereupon, Takkar worked being a General Manager of OBC. Also in different capacities at various Branches, Regional offices, and Head office of the same.
Charan Singh, the Executive Director of UCO Bank from 10th March 2015. In fact, Singh was the General Manager of Bank of India, in the Department of Human Resource. Qualified with a Master of Science in agriculture, In addition, Singh is a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). Started his banking career from Bank of India as Probationary Officer on 4th July 1983.
