In 1982, Doordarshan as a National Broadcaster came into existence. Krishi Darshan, the first program telecast on Doordarshan. DD Free Dish was launched in 2005, inaugurated by Hon Prime Minister of India. Formerly known as DD Direct Plus(+). DD Free Dish is owned and managed by Public Service Broadcaster Prasar Bharati (Doordarshan). During the beginning, they had 33 channels. The company headquartered in New Delhi.
