Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Formerly Hero Honda Motors Ltd.), incorporated in the year 1984 as a joint undertaking between India’s Hero cycles or commonly called, Hero Group and Honda Motor Company, Japan. Headquartered in Gurgaon, India.
During 2010, Honda decided to drive out of the joint undertaking, at the same time Hero Group purchased the shares possessed by Honda. Eventually, in August 2011 the company got renamed to Hero MotoCorp with a new corporate identity.
Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal, lead the foundation of Hero Group. Munjal, the first generation entrepreneur. Mr. Pawan Munjal, current Chairman, Managing Director & CEO of Hero Motocorp. Munjal, responsible for growth and imperative devising for the entire Group. Owing to the graduation as a Mechanical Engineer, Mr. Munjal has been instrumental in effecting technological and managerial excellence in the Company’s actions. Being an extraordinary golfer, Mr. Munjal was the Chairman of the Asian PGA Tour Board of Directors and the President of Professional Golfers Association of India (PGAI). He leads the foundation of Hero Indian Sports Academy (HISA) jointly with Laureus Foundation with the aim to provide equal opportunities in sports to various neighborhoods and to remunerate talent in the country.
Mr. Niranjan Gupta, current Chief Financial Officer of Hero Motorcorp. Niranjan carries a vibrant and distinct experience in finance leadership positions under Unilever and Vedanta Resources. During his career of more than two decades, Mr. Gupta worked with Unilever in various spaces including Global Finance Director of Household care and also, in Hair category in Unilever, London. He also served as Procurement Head of Unilever, South Asia. Preceding the period of joining Hero Motocorp, he denoted the CFO for the Aluminium and Power vertical of Vedanta Group.
